5 Keanu Reeves Movies You Have to See

I’m a 28 year old film school graduate from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I’ve written about films for various outlets for 4 years and currently run Bitesize Review across all social media platforms

Throughout this series I’ll be listing my 5 favourite films by various actors. It’ll be a mix of their big hits and some hidden gems that hopefully gives you something new to watch!

Known for having most of his success in the 90’s Keanu Reeves is currently in the midst of his “Keanusance” thanks to the achievement of the John Wick series. With 2 huge sequels in the works with Bill & Ted Face the Music and The Matrix 4, here’s a look back at some of my favourite offerings of his.

The Matrix

This is widely regarded as Keanu Reeves’ best film and it’s hard to argue with that. The Matrix is one of the best modern sci-fi films out there, thanks to its excellent world building and ahead of their time effects.

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum

The John Wick franchise has become one of the most successful trilogies in recent memory but it’s the third instalment where everything really falls together. They up the game with innovative action sequences & a much more complete storyline.

Toy Story 4

Although it may not be a starring role, Reeves’ delightful performance as Duke Caboom the Canadian Daredevil elevates an already enjoyable film. I also may be biased as I am Canadian myself.

A Scanner Darkly

A highly underrated movie, this is one of the best done in the graphic novel style. Boasting a supporting cast including Robert Downey Jr., Woody Harrelson & Winona Ryder, this is a true hidden gem.

Speed

A formula that hasn’t been done as successfully since, Speed is high octane action from start to finish and it’s anchored by great showings from Sandra Bullock and Reeves. A great film to shut your mind off and get lost in.
